School Chaplaincy Programs
In cooperation with YouthCARE, BTC is involved in an exciting new venture to better equip chaplains, offering fully accredited
programs approved by the Australian College of Theology. They are designed to be taken part-time on the job or full-time. recently approved by the
Since mid-2007 July BTC is offering new units specifically designed for school chaplaincy, coordinated by Revd. John Clapton:

Ministry Formation for Educational Chaplaincy is the induction into school chaplaincy and will be offered as an intensive: in 2008 there are two options: (1) 5-7 May, 7-8 July or (2) 28-30 July, 9-10 October

Chaplaincy in an Educational Setting will next be offered in 2009.
These, combined with biblical and theological studies, units in youth or children's ministry, and supervised field education in schools, provide well-rounded accredited and internationally recognised programs of study (see the BTC website for details of other units).
There are various possibilities
For those with a previous non-theological degree
Graduate Diploma in Divinity (8 units, one year full-time equivalent, taken over a maximum of four years). This in turn can be built on for Masters awards.
Bachelor of Christian Studies (2 years, with credit for 1 year of non-theological studies)
Undergraduate level
Associate Degree in Theology (two years)
Bachelor of Ministry (3 years)
Bachelor of Christian Studies (2 years at BTC, combined with 1 year equivalent in a university).

For students of other Colleges
As these units are fully accredited at both undergraduate and graduate level it is possible for you to cross-enrol, with credit towards the award of your College (check with your college as to how many units can be cross-credited).
Fee-Help
Fee Help is available for all Australian citizens intending to proceed to a complete award.

DM421/621 Issues in Children's Ministry [DM320/520 a pre-requisite] - Wednesdays
DM310/510 Foundations for Youth Ministry - Thursdays
